Prof. Elizeus Rutebemberwa

Prof. Elizeus Rutebemberwa, the Program Lead at ALAMIME , is a Professor of Health Systems Management. He began his career as a medical doctor, serving in a district hospital as a medical officer, later advancing to the role of Medical Superintendent and Assistant District Director of Health Services. Transitioning to academia, he joined Makerere University as a researcher and lecturer.

Elizeus holds a PhD in international health from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated leadership in various capacities, coordinating academic programs such as the Master of Public Health and serving as a site leader for a Demographic Surveillance Site. He has also led community, district, and national-level surveys, alongside conducting numerous evaluations on human resource capacity and service delivery..

His research focuses on health systems and their impact on service delivery, encompassing surveillance of associated factors, access, and utilization. He is a seasoned trainer, having conducted training sessions across different universities in Africa and beyond.
