At the ALAMIME Secretariat, John Mugwanya serves as the Alumni Communications Lead, where he leverages his expertise in social research, community engagement, and communications to strengthen alumni relations and foster meaningful engagement.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University. He has also earned a certificate in One Health Principles and Practice in Infectious Diseases Management from the One Health Institute at Makerere University, in collaboration with the Africa One Health University Network. In addition, he holds a certificate in Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington.
With over three years of combined experience, John has actively championed the adoption of the One Health approach in Uganda and Nigeria, using community-driven strategies and effective communication to promote cross-sector collaboration and impact.
