Ensuring No Missed Cases: Innovations and Best Practices in Malaria Case Management

Malaria case management plays a critical role in reducing illness and preventing malaria-related deaths. Ensuring that people with malaria are identified early, receive appropriate diagnosis and treatment, and are appropriately followed up is essential for improving patient outcomes and strengthening malaria control efforts. However, gaps in access, diagnosis, treatment, referral, and follow-up can contribute to missed or inadequately managed cases.

Join us for a new session of the ALAMIME Alumni Webinar Series as we explore innovations and best practices for ensuring no missed cases in malaria case management in Uganda. The session will examine practical approaches for improving the identification, diagnosis, treatment, and management of malaria cases, while highlighting innovations that can strengthen the quality and effectiveness of malaria case management.

The session will provide an opportunity to explore experiences from malaria case management practice and discuss approaches that can help address gaps across the continuum of care. Participants will also learn about the importance of timely diagnosis, appropriate treatment, adherence to case management guidelines, and effective referral and follow-up in reducing missed cases and improving malaria outcomes.

The webinar will further highlight practical lessons and innovations that can support health workers, programme managers, and other stakeholders in strengthening malaria case management. By examining what works in practice and identifying opportunities for improvement, the session will contribute to continued efforts to improve the quality of malaria services and strengthen malaria control in Uganda.
