Building Resilient Health Systems for Zero Malaria: Strategies, Evidence, and Opportunities for the Uganda Health System

Building resilient health systems is fundamental to achieving and sustaining malaria elimination. Strong health systems ensure the effective delivery of malaria interventions, strengthen disease surveillance, improve access to quality services, and enable countries to respond to emerging challenges while maintaining progress toward zero malaria. In Uganda, continued investments in health system resilience, strategic partnerships, evidence-based decision-making, and community engagement remain essential to reducing the malaria burden and accelerating elimination efforts.

Join us for another engaging session in the ALAMIME Alumni Webinar Series as we explore strategies, evidence, and opportunities for building resilient health systems that support Uganda’s journey toward zero malaria. This webinar will examine how resilient health systems contribute to effective malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, and response, while highlighting the role of leadership, partnerships, and sustainable financing in strengthening malaria programmes.

Participants will gain practical insights into the integration of malaria interventions within broader health systems, the use of data to inform programme planning and decision-making, approaches to strengthening health workforce capacity and service delivery, and opportunities to enhance collaboration across sectors. The session will also provide lessons from Uganda’s malaria programme and discuss how resilient health systems can accelerate progress toward malaria elimination while improving overall population health.
