Building High Performing Networks for Malaria-free Communities: Experiences from Serere District

Strong community systems are at the heart of sustainable malaria control and elimination efforts. In many endemic settings, community health structures serve as the first point of contact for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services. However, building high-performing, resilient networks that can effectively respond to malaria requires deliberate investment in coordination, capacity building, and local leadership.

Join us for an engaging session in the ALAMIME Alumni Webinar Series as we explore strategies for strengthening community systems to accelerate progress toward malaria-free communities. This webinar will highlight how integrated community-based approaches, effective leadership, and collaborative networks can drive improved service delivery and health outcomes.

Participants will gain insights into practical experiences from district-level implementation, including how community health workers, local leaders, and health facilities can work together to enhance surveillance, improve case management, and increase uptake of malaria prevention interventions. The session will also examine key challenges and opportunities in building sustainable, high-performing community networks within existing health systems.

This discussion will be particularly valuable for malaria program managers, community health practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and public health professionals committed to advancing malaria elimination through community-driven approaches.
