About The Event

Role of Malaria Mortality Audits Towards the Zero Malaria Deaths Strategy

Despite significant progress in malaria prevention and treatment, malaria-related deaths remain a critical public health concern across endemic countries. Achieving the ambitious goal of zero malaria deaths requires not only effective interventions, but also systematic learning from every malaria-related fatality. Join us for an insightful session in the ALAMIME Alumni Webinar Series as we explore the vital role of malaria mortality audits in strengthening national malaria responses.

This webinar will examine how malaria mortality audits help identify gaps in diagnosis, case management, referral systems, supply chains, and community health-seeking behaviors. The session will highlight how structured reviews of malaria deaths can generate actionable recommendations, improve accountability, enhance quality of care, and inform policy and programmatic adjustments at national and sub-national levels.

Participants will gain practical insights into establishing and operationalizing malaria mortality audit systems, integrating findings into routine program improvement, and fostering multidisciplinary collaboration to prevent avoidable deaths. The discussion will be particularly relevant for malaria program managers, clinicians, researchers, and public health practitioners committed to accelerating progress toward zero malaria deaths.
