Community Interventions Against Malaria in Bonthe District, Sierra Leone

Malaria remains a major public health challenge in many parts of sub-Saharan Africa, and community-level action continues to play a critical role in reducing transmission and improving health outcomes. Join us for an engaging session in the ALAMIME Alumni Webinar Series as we explore practical, field-based experiences from Bonthe District, Sierra Leone.

This webinar will examine how community interventions including health education, distribution and proper use of insecticide-treated nets, community case management, early diagnosis and prompt treatment, and stakeholder collaboration are strengthening malaria control efforts at district level. The session will highlight lessons learned, challenges encountered, and strategies that have improved service delivery and community participation.

Participants will gain valuable insights into designing, implementing, and sustaining community-driven malaria interventions, with reflections applicable to similar settings working toward improved malaria control and eventual elimination.
