Dr. Nnenna Chizaram Ogbulafor is the Director and National Coordinator of the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) under the Department of Public Health, Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria. She brings over 15 years of experience in public health and health management.
Before assuming her current role, Dr. Ogbulafor served as the Head of Case Management at NMEP, where she supported the initiation and research of several WHO-recommended malaria interventions in Nigeria. She also led the national scale-up of the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) campaign, including the integration of additional childhood health interventions within the SMC platform.
Prior to joining the National Malaria Programme in 2015, she worked as the Technical Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Health on Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (2009–2015).
Dr. Ogbulafor is passionate about health research and has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the global RBM Malaria in Pregnancy Working Group.
